Disposing of Household Hazard WasteClean Sweep is the common name for programs designed to safely dispose of household hazardous waste.

Hazardous waste can be harmful to people, animals, or the environment, particularly surface and ground waters.

According to the Eau Claire County Clean Sweep web page, Residential Clean Sweep events are always held on the second Saturday of May, July, September, and November each year, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

September 14 and November 9 are the remaining clean sweep dates for 2013.

Clean Sweep collections take place at WRR Environmental Services in Eau Claire, located at 5200 Ryder Road, about 1/4 mile south of Interstate 94.

Free Fishing and State/County Park Admission This Weekend

Big Falls County ParkSaturday, June 4th is National Trails Day! Take advantage of free admission to state and county parks, as well as free fishing this weekend!

On Saturday, June 4th, entrance fees will be waived at all Eau Claire County parks and boat landings (regular price $3 per vehicle). See the  Eau Claire County Parks & Forest web site for park maps and locations.

On Sunday, June 5th, entrance fees will be waived at all state parks, forests, trails, and recreation areas (regular price $7 per vehicle). See the Wisconsin State Park System web site for park maps and locations.

Also, this is a free fishing weekend. Fish without a license across the state all weekend long (regular price $8 for a one day fishing license). See the Wisconsin DNR web site for more information.
